Course offerings:

Certification Session – This class is geared towards the individual who currently holds or has held a Food Manager Certification. It is a 1-day, 8-hour course.

  • 6 hours is used to cover material and refresh the individual through discussion

  • 2 hours is given for students to take the exam

Beginner Session – This class is recommended for the individual who has never had a Food Manager Certification. This class consist of a 2 day or a 3-4/week, 20- per hour per week.

  • 4 ½ hours of instructional time is spent each of the 4 days to cover material and answer any questions a student may ask regarding the training.

  • 2 hours is given for students to take the exam the final day of class

  • 4 days a week; maximum 5 hours a day. The 4th day is 3 hours of the lesson review and the remaining 2 hours to take the exam .

; this allows for a more in-depth instruction and a better learning environment for participants.


Additionally, the average class size has a 35:1 ratio between students and teacher.

Once individuals successfully pass the ServSafe exam, they are given a certification of completion to submit to their local Health Department to obtain a three-year license from their state. This certification must be renewed every three-years; this ensures the licensees are staying current on regulations.
